The ionization technique used in such an air purifier can remove pollutants from the air, but in the end, they just stick to nearby surfaces. Therefore, this does not solve the problem. It is equipped with a fan that sucks the polluted air into the device, then passes through a filter, usually made of fiberglass, where airborne particles are trapped. The released ozone gas reacts with a bad smell (ammonia) and suppresses it.
